Get out and enjoy the great outdoors, your local landscape and local churches, following in the footsteps of pilgrims in this open to all 1/2 day walk.
Starting at St Wistan’s Church in Wistow the walk is 4 miles each way along a mixture of countryside, canal and roadside paths concluding at Wigston where the Church of St Wistan is found in Church Nook.
St Wistan lived in the 9th Century and was a famous saint. Wistow Church is built on the site where Wistan’s murder took place and his body rested at Wigston Church.

Please note walkers not wanting to also return on foot, are asked to arrange their travel by car and park at Wigston, then car share to the starting point at Wistow.
This is a guided pilgrim group walk starting at 9.15am. Pilgrims and walkers can also choose to take the route under their own steam later in the day or over the weekend following the waymarkers.
Refreshments are available at various venues in Wigston Town Centre and at Wistow Rural Centre
