Take in an exhibition organised by Hallaton Museum detailing Edmond Oliver’s pilgrimage from Hallaton to Our Lady of Walsingham and back in 1533.

Exhibition and film in the adjacent church, illustrating the consequences of deciphering a 1532 will

The exhibition in Hallaton Museum explains the research and significance of Edmond Oliver’s pilgrimage. Illustrating the whole journey from St Morrell’s Chapel in Hallaton to Our Lady of Walsingham; the route taken; the chantries and monasteries providing bed and board en route.

Next door in St Michael &All Angels Church, there is an exhibition telling the whole story of the recent discovery of the chapel, which had been closed at the Reformation, demolished and long forgotten. The amazing fact that our famous Easter Monday Bottle Kicking starts on the very spot with no one aware of what was below their feet!
