Written in 1976 by arguably the most popular British playwright of the 20th Century, Confusions is a set of five short comedies dealing with human foibles, eccentricities, loneliness, misunderstandings, and how, in certain circumstances, ‘if it can go wrong – it will’. Loosely linked, with some characters popping up more than once, these comedies range from pure farce to humour of a slightly darker hue. They make for a thought provoking evening, as well as providing a lot of laughs for the audience and a challenge for the cast – most of whom will appear more than once in different roles.
