This year celebrates 800 years of the Harborough Market.

Join in the celebrations by visiting The People’s Gallery and enjoying the new Market Trail. Find out more below.

Market Trail

Walk through the history of the market in Market Harborough. Pick up one of the new Market Trail leaflets from the Harborough Indoor Market.

You can book onto a guided tour led by a Blue Badge guide to discover how the market shaped the town into the place it is today.

The guided walks are £5 per person, which will need to be paid in cash to the guide on the day (children can attend for free).

The tour will start from the Old Grammar School.

The Peoples Gallery

The ‘People’s Gallery’ featuring photographs of the market, through the ages, will be displayed with pride at the popular indoor market in Northampton Road from 8 September 2021.

Harborough Museum

With support from Leicestershire County Council, there will also be a curated exhibition and three display panels at Harborough Museum from 8 September.

Harborough Market

Harborough Market, voted Britain’s Best Small Indoor Market 2016 is home to a variety of businesses, offering everything from fresh food, general goods, bespoke services, and eateries, all continuing the 800-year-old tradition of markets in Market Harborough.

Harborough Market is open Tuesday to Saturday, with a popular Antiques Market on Sunday.

Tuesday – Saturday: 8am- 4pm
Sunday: 10am- 3pm
